'The Runner' was filmed in the Lickey Hills in Worcestershire, just south of Birmingham City Centre. My husband is a runner and I'm in the process of making a longer documentary film about his attempts to break 15 minutes for 5km. As neither of us know when he'll break his PB and I'll finish the documentary, I was keen to make something a little shorter with a defined end point, but still on the theme of running. This is that film.
Behind the scenes of The Runner
A short Behind the Scenes (BTS) video showing how we made 'The Runner' in May 2016. Featuring a little bit of footage from behind the scenes, the recording of the voiceover using the RØDE smartLav+ & TRRS to TRS adapter (so that it could be used with a Tascam DR-05 recorder - much easier than trying to adjust levels and monitor sound via a mobile phone) and a little bit of footsteps and birdsong Foley in the forest!
The Runner was filmed in Magic Lantern RAW on a 5D2 and BMPCC ; After a little bit of trouble getting footage out of Davinci in Windows, colour grading was completed in Lightroom using Replichrome presets then exported via TIFF to ProRes. As usual I cut and finished the film in Lightworks and used EyeFrame Converter to assemble the ProRes proxies.
