This film is a satirical comedy about disaster movies, taking a semi-serious stance on an otherwise ridiculous storyline. A doughnut falls from the sky and destroys new york along with other cities around the world
Running off our £0 budget we had to improvise quite a lot; for the news scene we found an old small roll-up blue screen and put it up outside. I used a Panasonic HC-VX980 camcorder to do the live-action sequences... I made the doughnut in 3D and animated it - for the spaceship scene I used a model from BEAM studios (quality free model & royalty-free) I applied a cloth simulation and crashed the doughnut through it all while crashing my computer but eventually I managed to simulate the whole scene and get it rendered thanks to David Oulton who helped me render some of the more graphics-intensive scenes during this process...
